Instructor Profile

Elizabeth (Liz) Maute is a Yoga Alliance certified 200 hour RYT Hatha Yoga Instructor. After falling head-over-heels in love with yoga at the age of 21, she began studying under Felicitas Kusch-Lango at the Center at Healing Waters in East Aurora, NY. This love affair became official with the completion of her teacher training in 2007.

In 2014 Elizabeth became enamored with essential oils. She has found weaving the essential oils into her practice and daily life to have positive therapeutic benefits in her overall wellness. Wanting to share these benefits with her students, Liz began offering workshops and private group classes on how to use the plant essences.

Her yoga practice and new interest in essential oils naturally brought Liz to the ancient life science of Ayurveda. The 5,000 year-old healing practice utilizes not only oils, but also herbs, foods, spices, and of course, yoga and meditation. In May of 2016 Liz completed her AYS (Ayurvedic Yoga Specialization) at the Himalayan Institute of Buffalo with Katherine Tempelton, and expert in Yoga, Ayurveda and Psychology.

Liz lives in the Hamburg area of Western New York State, about 20 minutes south of Buffalo. Her yoga style is inspired by a mix of traditions and teachers she has worked with over the years. Varieties include the Hatha style, Vinyasa and Power Yoga, Yin Yoga, Ashtanga tradition, and the Anusara style, which are woven together regularly in her classes and workshops. She is also trained in Prenatal yoga (2016).

The combination of styles in her classes create a flowing and balanced practice leaving students feeling nourished and revived. Classes are tailored to all levels of ability. Even the very beginners to a yoga practice will be at ease.

Visit the EssentialYoga workshop page for upcoming dates. Individual and mini-group sessions are available. Weekly classes are postponed at this time while Liz is enjoying time with her new baby. Ayurvedic life style and personalized yoga consultations are available.
